May Meeting notes James conducted the very short and LAST meeting. Several students still have not completed the community service for LAST month. Mrs. Moore will contact you. May has no specific community service except to continue to be a "leader". Perform a Random Act of Kindness. We celebrated the accomplishments of fellow Betas and asked where they were headed to college, what scholarships they had won, etc. Mrs. Moore passed out graduation cords and announced that students could still pick them up at their convenience.
April 4, 2017 Meeting notes James conducted the short meeting. There are only 7 students who did not complete the March community service. Mrs. Moore will send you a note. The Club supported Go 4 the Gold, the Emerald Isle Marathon, and a campus clean event. The April COMMUNITY service is to partner with the Interact Club and participate in the Literacy Drive. Beta club members who are also Interact club members DO NOT have to participate with us. NON interact club members need to bring in a school supply,kids book, whatever, to support young, Head Start Education. Seniors in attendance received their graduation cord.
March 1 meeting notes: James was playing tennis, so Mrs. Moore conducted the meeting. The Helping Hearts for the Shelter Pets was a success. KUDOS to Ashley Sexton who collected 46.00 in donations! We will take a check to the shelter on March 15 and then go get yogurt. Students signed up for one of two community service events: March 11 (Saturday) is Go for the Gold. March 22 (Wednesday) is clean the Bus or pick up trash on the campus.
February 1 meeting notes: James called the meeting to order; Alyssa took the roll. James and Mrs. Moore thanked everyone for participating in the pet food and supplies drive. The Have a Heart, Help a Shelter Pet theme continues as we sell hearts for 50 cents for the shelter. Thanks to Alison Morton, the fund raiser is ready to go. She organized the materials. Our next meeting is March 1, and we will sign up for GO FOR THE GOLD to be held March 11 at CHS
January 4 meeting notes: James called the meeting to order; Alyssa took the roll. Reminder about the scholarship deadline! It is looming large! January 26 Jingle Bell run was a success and thankful that Betas took part in the worthy cause to help Project Graduation.. Mrs. Mickle has verified your participation and if you did NOT participate, please help out with the pet supply drive. The Pet Supply Drive is going well. Lots of food especially has been taken on at least 4 occasions to the shelter pets. For planning purposes our next meeting is February 1. We will start of February community service where we sell hearts, simply 3 dollars worth, to our family and friends. Money again supports the pet shelter. March community service is to support the Go for the Gold 5K. PLAN ON IT NOW. March 11.

Scholarship opportunities through the club - should be a returning member Food Drive stats - all complete except for 4 students; one has seen me, 3 have not. December Jingle Bell Run - Scheeduled for Dec 10. required for Seniors, juniors can sign up if you want. Mrs. Mickle will verify your participation. Christmas at the Pet shelter - Bring things for the pets due end of semester in January.
November 16,1016 James Philips called the meeting to order. Roll call was done as students entered the room. Scholarship information is on the national site and James encouraged all eligible Seniors to apply. Seniors -Make sure you take care of community service; the Canned food Drive is ongoing in four clubs and the December Community Service is to participate in the Jingle Bell Run Juniors - You will support the shelter with donations to the CCHumane Society. Elections were held and brief speeches were given by the interested candidates. Induction information was shared.
November 2, 2016 - Potential members only James Philips, President, called the meeting to order. He welcomed the potential members. Membership requirements were discussed by Mrs. Moore. OCT NOV community service is not a requirement, but new members are welcome to join in the canned drive DECEMBER Community service will be Christmas at the Pet shelter. Bring items, food, towels, etc for the pets at the shelter. Items will be on a list outside Mrs. Moore's door or you can access the list at cchsshelter.com Dues are 20 for Juniors, 27 for Seniors, but includes the graduation cord. October 26, 2016 meeting notes - SENIOR members only James Philips, President, called the meeting to order. Senior invitations to extend your membership were passed out by James. If you did not get yours, he has them and you will need to get one from him. Two community service projects were announced; For Oct/Nov - Our club will help the Interact club with a food drive. Bring cans to Mrs. Moore's room or get a note from Mrs. Newton that you have participated. Dec- SENIORS will participate in the Jingle Bell Run, which will benefit Project Graduation.
